My writing has become a fair bit more infrequent recently. I have been back to a day job of sorts, working full time. Some of my creative energy is zapped through working for someone else full time and so sometimes I just need to chill instead of creating.
This weekend though I found some time to gather myself and my camera and jumped into the water. Summer has been warming the ocean and we have reached a balmy 12 degrees here in Nova Scotia - feeling almost tropical.
There was a run of unexpected swell around this morning. The waves ran up and over a shallow sandbank at a beach called Clam Harbour. The speed of the waves made them very hollow and forced them to close in on themselves.
This was pretty ideal for me. I just positioned myself right at the place where barrels would form as the waves folded in on themselves.
Despite the explosions happening on top of me, I find the ocean and in particular waves bring me a stillness that I cannot got from anything else. Worrying about correctly exposing and getting the shot is probably as far as it goes. Other than that, there is virtually no time to overthink, think let alone worry about what’s happening on shore.
My setup to make these pictures. Pretty simple but a sure fire way for alot of fun and on occasion really beautiful pictures.
Thanks for being here as always.
Nice Glass…great shot : )
